War Hill is a serene escape where you may easily feel as if you have stepped back in time. It is a place where you may relax in the swings under the giant oak trees. You may stroll the grounds, pick the fruit in season and watch the Angus cattle meander in the surrounding pastures.
While tracing America's roots with a historic vacation to Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown, stay at War Hill Inn, a charming Virginia country bed and breakfast. Located within minutes of the many historical and entertainment attractions found in and around Williamsburg, this country inn will provide you with a relaxing respite from busy days of sightseeing. Whether you choose your lodgings in the Manor House or one of the quaint cottages, innkeepers Bill and Shirley Lee and son, Will, will make certain that your stay at War Hill Inn will be a step back in time that will compliment the history you are experiencing during your stay in the area.

War Hill Inn's house and cottages are located on a working farm; the southern bed and breakfast accomodations are at the center of the 32-acre estate. Surrounded by pastures, forests, a vineyard, an orchard, and gardens, these elements, combined with the well-kept grounds and indigenous wildlife, provide a serene country escape. This relaxing environment is conveniently located just a few miles from the Williamsburg city limits.

The classic Manor House was built in 1968 to 18th century architectural standards, under the direction of an architect from Colonial Williamsburg. Each of the rooms in this country inn has been named after a U.S. President from the grand commonwealth of Virginia. >From the antique furnishings and wide heart pine floors, to the overhead beams and 8-foot oak fireplace mantle, these features combine with the modern-day conveniences you have come to expect to insure your comfort and enjoyment. Two of the available rooms in the Manor House can be combined to form a suite.

The Cottages at War Hill Inn are accommodations that will particularly suit vacationing history buffs. The Washington Cottage, a reproduction of a colonial kitchen, was added in 1990, and adheres to the same historical architectural standards used in the Manor House. Likewise, the Jefferson Cottage, a reproduction of a colonial law office, was completed in 2000, and is perfect for a romantic getaway, with its fireplace, kitchenette, and 4' X 5' whirlpool tub.

A Virginia country bed and breakfast such as War Hill Inn can provide the ease and comfort of country living while being just minutes away from many attractions in and around Colonial Williamsburg. You will enjoy the beautiful natural environment of this Virginia country estate, the peace and quiet, and the 18th century architecture and furnishings, that put you in mind of a bygone era in America's history.
