Spend a Night, Create a Memory

From the spacious and private cottage accommodations to the comfortable and well-appointed rooms in the manor house, honeymooners as well as families can find their “little piece of heaven” at War Hill. The most common words heard as guests leave the Lees are, “We'll be back.”

The rooms are named after the Presidents born in Virginia.

The Manor House

Under the direction of a Colonial Williamsburg architect, the classic Manor House, constructed in 1968, was built to 18th century architectural standards. Each of the rooms in this country inn has been named after a U.S. President from the grand commonwealth of Virginia. From the antique furnishings, authentic 18th century paint colors and wide heart pine floors, to the overhead beams and 8-foot oak fireplace mantle, these features combine with modern-day conveniences to insure your comfort and enjoyment. The Lee's have accomplished an amazing contrast of old and new.

War Hill recreates the colonial plantation style era with six comfortable accommodations. Each room is air-conditioned and has a private bath. The bedrooms are furnished with antiques. Two of the accommodations; the Wilson Suite and the Washington Cottage, will sleep 5 persons. Both have a front bedroom with a queen sized bed and an adjoining second bedroom with a full size bed and a twin bed, great for families and friends.

The Cottages at War Hill Inn are accommodations that will particularly suit vacationing history buffs. The Washington Cottage, a reproduction of a colonial kitchen, was added in 1990, and adheres to the same historical architectural standards used in the Manor House. Likewise, the Jefferson Cottage, a reproduction of a colonial law office, was completed in 2000, and is perfect for a romantic getaway, with its fireplace, kitchenette, and 4' X 5' whirlpool tub. Those staying in the Jefferson Cottage may request in-room dining service.
